A municipal-level emergency situation has been declared in several settlements in Kuban due to oil product spills along the shore.
According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, the state of emergency is in effect in the villages of Zaporozhskoye, Novotamanskoye, Tamanskoye, and Sennoye in the Temryuk District, as well as in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) is on-site, with 260 specialists and 50 units of equipment deployed. Additionally, Cossacks have joined the cleanup efforts.
On the beach in Veselovka, Temryuk District, approximately 400 bags of contaminated soil have already been collected, despite the contamination in that area being relatively minor, according to the operational headquarters.
Local social media has featured videos showing volunteers cleaning oil products from birds' feathers and calling on others to join the effort.
