Russian Railways (RZD) will launch the new two-story express train "Aurora" between Moscow and Saint Petersburg on December 19. RZD noted that the trains will consist of 15 modern, comfortable carriages that can accommodate more than 1,000 passengers at once. "The two-story 'Aurora' will begin operating between Moscow and Saint Petersburg on December 19. It will 'mirror' its departure from Moscow and Saint Petersburg twice a day: at 06:00 and 13:50," the announcement said. Earlier, it was reported that the travel time on the route will be about 5.5 hours. The "Aurora" train will feature modern two-story carriages with seating, as well as a two-story bistro car. There are two classes of carriages: with improved and standard seating layouts. The train's interior is designed in calm shades of blue, gray, and beige, and it is equipped with a "starry sky" diffuse lighting system. Passenger seats are equipped with electrical outlets, USB and Type-C ports for charging mobile devices. In addition, the train has a button to call the conductor, systems for air conditioning and air disinfection, as well as eco-friendly toilets.
