Hungary has included Russia and Belarus in the list of countries under the "national card" program, which provides simplified entry and residence conditions in the country. Deutsche Welle reported this on July 30. It is noted that the "national card" will allow working in Hungary, as well as bringing one's family to the country. It is issued for two years with an unlimited number of extensions. Participants in the program can move freely around Europe, and after three years, they can obtain a residence permit. Previously, the list of countries included in the program consisted only of Serbia and Ukraine. In July, the program was extended to include Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, and Belarus.
