Visa wants to return to Russia – the company has filed a trademark registration application with Rospatent. Visa International Service Association has approached Rospatent to register two trademarks. According to the application, they are intended for banking services, money transfers, remote banking services, and other functions. This could either mean an attempt to protect its trademark or an intention to return to the Russian market – the company’s intentions are currently unclear. In March 2022, Visa announced that it would suspend operations with Russian banks. Later, the company reported that this decision resulted in a loss of ₽35 billion.
