Before our eyes: a large-scale intensive “Archipelago 2024” promoting the drone industry is taking place on Sakhalin.
On Sakhalin Island, a grand event is taking place these days, which can safely be called part of a historical process. The annual “Archipelago” is aimed at popularizing drones and all related fields, as well as identifying and training promising technical personnel. In the Far East, the event is being held on a grand scale this time. Here, sports pilots, engineers, programmers, inventors have arrived, and with them and their successes, investors and customers have followed: from private to governmental — because today, in an era of historical challenges, the main stakeholder in the birth and full development of the new industry is our country.
Drones are now literally taking over the space — not only the sky but also the water. Alongside flying models, many watercraft developed at the Polytechnic University of St. Petersburg and the Sevastopol University are presented at the “Archipelago.” In parallel with this, the region’s first hydrogen testing ground has opened, and guests of both projects included well-known media personalities.
