Applications for participation in the Andrei Stenin photo contest are now open, reports RIA Novosti.
As per tradition, the contest begins on December 22, the birthday of the photographer who died in 2014 during the hostilities in Donbas.
The competition, now in its eleventh year, annually attracts thousands of photographers from various countries worldwide.
Young photographers aged 18 to 33 are invited to participate. Applications can be submitted in Russian and English until February 28.
Organizers expressed satisfaction that no international complications or problems hinder the contest. Young photographers from around the world eagerly respond, submitting their works.
The photos always address themes that resonate with the majority of people. Photographers present them in a language understood universally. As in previous years, the contest will conclude with a roadshow showcasing the works of the best authors in different countries.
This year, the competition features five categories: "Top News," "Sports," "My Planet," "Portrait. Hero of Our Time," and "View from Above."
In three of them, two winners will be selected: one for a series of photographs and another for a single image. In the categories "Sports" and "View from Above," only single works will be accepted.
