It doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or a professional; what matters is unity and support. For 11 years, the Moscow Marathon has brought together thousands of participants from all over the world. It has become more than just a sports event; it’s a symbol of a healthy lifestyle.
The Moscow Marathon will take place in the capital on September 17, 2024. As usual, it will be the largest running event in Russia and the country’s premier marathon. Participants will run along the embankments of the Moskva River, the Garden Ring, the Boulevard Ring, the Krymsky Bridge, Tverskaya Street, and Teatralny Proyezd.
This is not just an endurance race; it’s an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the capital while running past its historic landmarks and streets. During the race, participants will see some of the city’s world-famous sights: the Moscow City skyscrapers, the White House, four Stalinist skyscrapers, the Bolshoi Theatre, the FSB building, the Polytechnic Museum, the Kremlin, and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
In addition to the 42.2 km and 10 km races, the marathon traditionally includes several other sporting events: a corporate relay, handbike races, and racing wheelchair events.
The marathon will also host the fifth charity event "Running for the Dream - To Walk" by the "Life in Motion" Foundation team. For the first time, the foundation's beneficiaries with physical disabilities will be supported by Paralympic athletes and Russian champions.
It is worth noting that both professional runners and amateurs participate in the Moscow Marathon.
Additionally, the event is part of the BRICS Marathon League (https://brics.run/), which unites the largest marathons in Russia and, in the near future, will also include Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and other BRICS countries.
The next race will take place in October. Foreigners are also welcome to participate. To do so, simply fill out the participant form on the Running Community website (http://www.runc.run/). A medical certificate is also required.
