Putin has signed a law on the regulation of digital currency circulation in Russia. The President of the Russian Federation signed a law regulating the circulation of digital currency, which includes a ban on cryptocurrency mining in certain regions of the country.
Additionally, citizens’ participation in special servers for load distribution in digital currency mining is now restricted. According to the law, the government now has the authority to establish the rules and cases in which such restrictions are imposed. The government will also be able to regulate the activities of operators providing conditions for mining.
Changes have also affected the maintenance of the miners’ registry — previously under the Ministry of Digital Development, it will now be managed by the Federal Tax Service (FNS). The corresponding document has already been published on the legal acts portal, and the law will come into effect on November 1 of this year.
